Shallan's MalO Sketch

“Pattern… is that you?” Nothing. It was happening again… Shallan had the creeping feeling that someone was watching her, lurking behind her. But every time she turned around, she was completely alone… wasn’t she? “Symbol-heads,” she thought, remembering how the strange beings from Shadesmar had manifested themselves. Shallan quickly grabbed the mirror from her nightstand and looked into it. Then she angled it slightly to the left, so it reflected back the space just above her left shoulder. She saw nothing. She blinked, taking a memory, and then hurriedly grabbed her sketchbook and pencils, rapidly sketching the memory, letting the pencil move across the paper, almost of its own accord… When she finished, the paper trembled in her hand as she stared in terror at what she had drawn… The mirror was no longer empty…

I’ve been re-reading Stormlight Chronicles, and I had this funny idea of what would happen if Shallan’s ability to sketch unseen beings in the room with her worked on SCP-1471. I illustrated the idea by combining some stock images and then applying some art filters to give them the appearance of being rendered in pencil. Not perfect, but it was a fun little artistic experiment I thought I’d share!
