My Childhood Cartoon Crushes!

I was in a sentimental mood, so I made my own drawing challenge. Feel free to download and use the template yourself here!
Interesting how I ended up with a 50/50 split between birds and reptiles. Interesting, but not surprising. 😄
Cera - I’ve loved dinosaurs for as long as I can remember, and I’ve been a fan of Land Before Time for about that long. I’ve seen all 14 films and 26 TV episodes. Littlefoot may hog the spotlight, but my favorite character was Cera for her strength and spunk!
Fantasia Ostrich - We had Disney’s Fantasia on VHS growing up. My favorite song was Dance of the Hours, and I became so enamored with the lead ostrich ballerina that she became my imaginary friend for years! Her name is Lydia, by the way. (Don’t ask me how I know.)
Marahute - Another Disney film I watched over and over as a kid was Rescuers Down Under. Marahute, the great golden eagle, was a truly unique and beautiful character! The film convinced me that eagles big enough to ride on existed in the wild and I desperately wanted one!!
Charmander - Not for the first time, I found that Charmander is weirdly difficult to draw. Something about the roundness of his head I guess? But that just adds to his cute, cuddly look! The manual suggested Bulbasaur, but it can pound sand! Charmander is the best starter!
Byiomon - While I loved Pokemon growing up, once I discovered Digimon I quickly gained a new top show! The digimon companions seemed more like friends than pets. And my favorite was the adorable and sweet Biyomon! (It helps that her champion and ultimate forms are awesome!)
Scurl - I’ve gone into detail before about my favorite character from the Redwall series: Scurl Droptail. He’s described as a newt in the book Mattimeo, but in the TV show he’s a frilled lizard. I credit him with first turning me into a fan of scaly characters!
