Keft Contest Entry

Contest entry for ’s contest! They’re still looking for entrants, so if you feel like participating, please let them know I sent you! This is both the first time I’ve digitally inked a drawing of mine, and also the first time I used soft-shading instead of cell shading… I found using the opacity brush kinda fun! Much thanks to for the dragon front view tutorial! That helped a ton!

Name: Keft Gender: Male Species: Mountain Dragon Age: 73 (young adult for his species) Personality: Cautious and mistrusting towards strangers, except for children. He enjoys the company of children and is very protective of them. History: As a child, Keft wanted what nearly all dragonlings his age wanted: to one day become a mighty hunter or fighter, respected and feared. He was born a runt however, and even as he began to grow, developed no extraordinary skills or strength. Then one day he got into a tussle with another young dragon who clawed him in the face, blinding him in one eye, ending his hopes for becoming even a modest hunter forever. At first Keft was bitter and for a long time felt like he was useless and a burden to his tribe. But with time he was given a job to watch over the younglings while the adults went hunting. He quickly discovered that he liked watching over the children, entertaining and comforting them.
