Color Scheme Collages 1

For an assignment in my art class we needed to make 12 miniature collages, each one representing a different color scheme… I got all the cut outs for all my collages from old video game magazines, lol! (Might actually make for an entertaining “I Spy” type game for us nerdy types!) We did two collages for each of six color schemes we talked about; this one is just the first set. From Top left to bottom right the schemes are:
- Monochromatic - shades, tints, and tones of a single color (Green)
- Analogous - three colors adjacent to each other on the color wheel (Blue, blue-violet, blue-green)
- Complimentary - two colors opposite each other on the color wheel (Yellow, violet)
- Split compliment - one color and the two colors adjacent to its compliment (Blue-green, red, orange)
- Triadic - three colors equidistant from each other on the color wheel (Red, yellow, blue)
- Color discord - two or more colors that clash or are otherwise unrelated from each other on the color wheel (Violet, red-orange)
