Anthro-lizard skull

Making these anthro-lizard people of mine is definitely an idea I’d like to run with, so I’m taking a bit of an analytical approach by looking at the anatomy of humans and lizards. As you can see, the lizard skull is mostly hollow. Doesn’t leave much room for a very big brain, unlike the human skull. So we take the basic shape of the lizard skull and give it increased brain capacity. Also, notice the teeth. Mazzard (as I’ve called them) are primarily meat eaters, but they can be omnivorous, so they have molars like humans to grind up plant material in addition to rows of sharp teeth. (Can you tell I’m having fun with this idea? =D) Funny fact: I had chosen the name “Mazzard” a long time before I realized that it looks an awful lot like Man + Lizard… just a bonus I guess.

…Oh, I spelled “Lizard” wrong on my sketch. Meh.
